So here's a cute little note. One class BOMBED their exit ticket on Monday. The VAST MAJORITY missed BOTH balancing equations problems. So today, we spent a LOT of time practicing. My other classes did 20-30 minutes. this class did like....60 minutes. So at the end, to check for improvement, I put up another equation on the board for everyone to balance individually, with the title:
BALANCE ME AAAGGGHHH
And I swear, it was the most adorable thing. I have these two students who are LEP and one of them asked, "Mr, what does it mean, 'aaaaghhhh'" and she really struggled to pronounce it correctly. I promptly (and loudly) made the noise for her and her friend and they both started giggling uncontrollably. They asked me again later with similar results. :)
It's the little things...
